Ever wondered if what you are drinking is healthy coffee, or has it never even crossed your mind. There has been a lot of debate over the years about how healthy or unhealthy coffee is for the body. If you ask any doctor on the spot most of them would probably give you a vague answer that included eating and drinking everything in moderation. While is this a good rule of thumb, what if you knew that the cup of warmth that you enjoy every morning was actually healthy coffee?

Is Yours Healthy Coffee?

While there has been a lot of information in the past about how bad coffee may be for you, some more recent studies suggest that yours may be a healthy coffee! What has been found is that coffee may actually help the body fight against many different diseases such as cancer and even diabetes. While it looks as though coffee is safe to drink, you should not replace your fruits and vegetables with it, just yet!

Wondering what makes yours healthy coffee? Researchers believe that the antioxidants that are found in coffee can help reduce the risk of cancer in those that consume moderate amounts. In addition, coffee is also known to cleanse the bowels much more efficiently than would happen otherwise, which many believe is what can keep those that are prone to intestinal cancer from developing the disease. There are studies that link coffee to the reduction of instances in breast cancer as well as colon cancer, two very common types of cancer in the world today.

That healthy coffee has also been linked to prevention of diabetes. There was actually a study done that followed 28,000 different women for 11 years. Those women than drank four or more cups of coffee a day were 20% less likely to develop diabetes over the course of the study and the reduction in numbers was as high as 30-40% for women who drank decaf coffee instead of regular. These are astonishing numbers and has many people looking for more concrete information on this topic since diabetes has quickly become an epidemic in many parts of the world.

While you may drink healthy coffee, you have to remember what your doctor would say, that moderation is the key. You have to remember that as many benefits as coffee has it may also have some drawbacks if you drink it often. Coffee is known to cause problems with acid reflux, which can lead to health problems. If you have trouble sleeping you may find that there is no amount of healthy coffee for you, as coffee is known for keeping people up at night due to even very limited amounts of caffeine found in decaf varieties.

So, every time you go out and get coffee you order decaf. What exactly is that? Do you know what the difference is besides the caffeine between the regular coffee and the decaf? It is funny how we can go through much of our lives eating and drinking things, such as decaf coffee, and not really know much about them. Here you will learn a little bit more about that hot brew that you enjoy so much. You might actually learn something that you could have never guessed.

All About Decaf Coffee

Decaf coffee is coffee that has had the coffee removed from the coffee beans. The process of removing the caffeine from the beans is more complicated than many think because many assume that the beans can simply be grown without it, but this is not the case. The decaffeination process is always done on green or un-roasted coffee beans. There are several different methods of removing the substances from the beans but it usually involves an initial steaming of the beans. After the steaming the coffee beans are usually rinsed in a solvent eight to 12 different times until the beans either meet an international standard, or when 97% of the caffeine from the beans has been removed. In the EU standards are even higher, with the beans needing to be 99.9% caffeine free by mass when they are ready to be sold.

The great thing about the decaf coffee rinsing process is that it has proven to remove just the caffeine from the beans, not any of the important essential oils or other chemicals that are important not only to the taste of the coffee, but also the smell of the coffee, which is equally important to coffee drinkers. While there are not any coffee beans that naturally have little or no caffeine, Arabica coffee contains less caffeine than does Robusta coffee, making this an obvious choice for those that want as little caffeine as possible.

Decaf coffee is a subject of great debate, if you can believe that. Many experts believe that it should not be marketed as decaffeinated but as low caffeine because all of the coffee contains small or trace amounts of caffeine. While it does not seem like a big deal to most of us, those that are very sensitive to the chemical might like to know that they are getting small amounts of coffee that may make them excitable or unable to sleep.

If you would like less caffeine you generally will want to buy decaf coffee. While there is .01-3% coffee it is much less than what you will get if you drink regular coffee. You should simply know that when you drink any coffee you may be introducing caffeine, even in small amounts, to your system.

Have you seen the flavored coffee syrups in the grocery stores and wondered what they are all about? These syrups come in many different varieties and can be used in many different ways, you simply need to choose one and put it to work for you! Many coffee houses use the flavored syrups to make different flavored drinks such as those caramel and hazelnut flavored coffees that you love so much.

Sweeten Your Coffee with Flavored Coffee Syrups

Flavored coffee syrups are more common than you might imagine. Think about when you go to your favorite coffee shop; do you see as many syrup bottles there are you would see at the ice cream shop? This is not a mistake, as flavored coffee is really very popular. While many people like their coffee straight, just the way it is brewed, there are a lot of people who do not. There are others who want a sweet or flavored drink every now and again, and this is just what these syrups are for.

There are many different types of flavored coffee syrups on the market today, with some of the most popular names being Monin, Da Vinci, Torani, Dolce, Stirling, and Senza. Most of these syrups are flavored with fruit juice, cane sugar, or even beet or corn sugar. Each coffee drinker has his or her own personal tastes, but if you are looking for sweetness you will find that the cane sugar and fruit juice sweetened syrups are the best choice. If you try to limit sweets that is no big deal, there are sugar free varieties that you can choose from, as well.

When you shop for flavored coffee syrups you will find that there is a wide gap in prices. While the more expensive brands may seem a waste, they usually have a more intense flavor concentration, which means that you will be able to use less with each serving; therefore you will not use it as fast even if the bottles are the same size. If you want the most for your money than you will find it worthwhile to spend a little bit more for something that you do not have to use so much of.

The great thing about flavored coffee syrups is that they do not just have to be used in coffee; in fact they can be used in many different ways. Some people also use them in seltzer water, making what is called an Italian Soda, which is a flavored soda drink that can also contain ice cream. When you have this syrup in your home you will find that it has many fun uses and it really does taste great when you are looking for that little something extra from your food and beverages.

There are many coffee roasters on the market today each of them offering you something different. Ten or 15 years ago there were not many home use machines for consumers to buy, but now you can find some really practical as well as really high quality machines that will allow you to not only brew your own coffee in your home, but also roast it.

Fresh Coffee with Coffee Roasters

Coffee roasters are a great way to get the fresh tasting coffee that you love. While you may buy high quality coffee there is simply not a substitute for truly fresh roasted coffee. Imagine being able to slowly roast all of your favorite coffee beans and then put them right into your grinder, grinding them to perfection, and then using the grounds to brew that perfect cup of coffee. Does it get any better than this?

Many people feel like they have to go out for a good cup of coffee, but when you have the right equipment at home you can do it all on your own. You do not have to go out and pay too much for a cup of coffee; instead you can stay in the comfort of your own home and enjoy the roasting and brewing process for yourself. You do not have to spend a lot of money because there are many affordable coffee roasters out there that will help you get the job done.

Coffee roasters come in a variety of different shapes and sizes and some of the more preferable ones will allow you to adjust the heat for each batch. This is a nice feature because there are some coffee beans that are very dense and others that are not very dense at all, and this means that the beans need to be roasted differently. If you like to try different coffees than this is something that you should definitely look into, if you simply stick to one type of coffee bean than this may not be something that you need.

When you buy coffee roasters you do not have to buy them with the intention of using them every day. Many people will use them once a week, roasting as much coffee as they need for the week, and then when that coffee is about gone they roast again. Coffee roasting does not take much time, but it may not be something that you have time for every morning, but could easily do every weekend or once a week during the evening. Whenever you do it, coffee roasters are a nice tool to have at home because it really does bring something great to your coffee!

A coffee grinder is an essential part of any coffee lovers set up. If you want the best tasting coffee you need to make sure that you have a grinder. When you use a grinder you are able to use freshly roasted beans to make your coffee. The fresher your coffee beans are the better your coffee will taste. If you have been using pre-ground coffee beans up until now, you don’t know what you are missing!

Buying a Coffee Grinder

When you start shopping you’ll find that there are many different coffee grinder choices. These include the hand mill, the blade coffee grinders, and the burr coffee grinders. The hand mill is one that requires you to actually grind the coffee beans by hand. This is not something that most people choose to do because there are easier methods of having the beans ground to a usable consistency in a much shorter period of time. If you like the idea of a hand mill you can always purchase one for those times when you have a bit more time and energy and you would like to grind your beans the traditional way.

The blade grinder is another common type of coffee grinder. This is the most commonly used type of grinder, though may not be the best. The design of this type of grinder is effective for grinding but because of the friction of the blade moving through the beans many of the beans may actually end up burned. Also, this method isn’t known for providing the most consistent grounds, meaning some of the grounds will be much more course than other parts of the grounds. You can liken this style of grinder to a blender crushing ice; some of the pieces of the ice are much bigger than others and the overall result is just not all that consistent.

Another type of coffee grinder is the burr grinder. There are two different types of burr grinders, which are the flat wheel and the conical with the conical variety being thought of as the best type that you can buy. In the burr grinders the beans are ground more slowly than in a blade grinder and then gravity pulls the ground up coffee beans into a hopper and then brewed into coffee. This method eliminates the burning of the coffee beans as well as ensures that the grounds are more consistently ground. The only drawback of this type of grinder is that it requires more cleaning, which does take some time, but if you are dedicated to coffee that tastes great every time this is the grinder that you want.

There are many different coffee makers on the market today for you to choose from, you simply have to determine what sort of machine you would like. Whether you need a machine for home, the office, or your business there are plenty of different models for you to choose from. Whether you are making coffee for just a few or you are making coffee for a whole café or restaurant full of people, there is a machine out there for you. Some of the most impressive machines on the market today are of the commercial variety because they are capable of doing so much. Shopping for commercial machines really can be overwhelming, though!

Commercial Coffee Makers: Features and Benefits

If you like the idea of commercial coffee makers but you haven’t purchased one because of the price, you aren’t alone. Many businesses have felt just like you do, but when you compare the home use and commercial use machines there just is no comparison. The fact is, most of these machines are a bit more expensive than something that you would buy for the home, but the extra expense is worth it. Commercial coffee makers are made hold up over time and are made to be used constantly. These machines provide the business with the quality that they expect, and they can help the company to brew great coffee in the most efficient way.

One of the most common reasons that business owners finally consider purchasing commercial coffee makers is the mess that is created when employees make coffee with a standard or home use machine. Unfortunately employees are not as careful when making coffee at the office as they are when they are at home, even if this is not something that anyone will admit to! When you deal with commercial machines you are simply dealing with a more straightforward brewing process, which does away with a lot of the potential mess.

A lot of people buy commercial coffee makers because they use coffee pods instead of filters and loose grounds. Loose grounds and filters are often a big part of the mess associated with making coffee and coffee pods have a pre-measured amount of grounds in a sealed pod. This works well because there are no loose grounds to worry about, no measuring, everything is already done for you so the coffee can be brewed to taste great every time.

Some have to consider commercial coffee makers because they are more beverage system than coffee machine. The new beverage systems really are very nice, and they allow for consumers to choose what sort of coffee they want. Many hotels and buffet style restaurants use these as it simply makes more sense. A lot of these machines brew just one cup at a time, doing away with the cold cups of coffee or scorched coffee on the bottom of the carafe. There are some great machines out there for you to choose from, so find one that fits your needs!

If you own a business and you serve coffee there are going to be some coffee supplies that you need. The best way to get these supplies is to find someone who has all or most of them so you can get everything from the same reliable source. You may be surprised how many things that you need to consider when you look into coffee supplies, as there are many different things out there for you to think about.

The Coffee Supplies That You Need

There are many coffee supplies that you need when you are in this business and perhaps the most important is the coffee machine. You need to buy a coffee machine that you will be able to use the way you need to use it, delivering the coffee to your clients as fast as they order it. There are many different commercial machines for you to consider ranging from the manual variety to the automatic variety and everything in between. Some of the models can brew hundreds of cups of coffee in an hour, which is what you will need if you are brewing for a whole restaurant or café full of people!

Of course, there are more coffee supplies that you will need and one of the most important supplies are coffee cups. If you take to go orders you will not only want to think about mugs and glasses as well as saucers, you will also need to think about paper cups. There are many different styles for you to choose from. There are many different styles as well as many different prices that come along with these styles and you’ll simply have to choose the items that fit your need as well as your budget.

Other coffee supplies that you need include coffee straws, napkins, and coffee filters. These items are usually those that no one thinks about until they need them, so it is good if you can get in with a supplier that will automatically send you these supplies on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Your business cannot run without these items, so you really do need to make sure that you always have everything you need on hand at all times. When you order regularly you will also be able to receive batch discounts, which will save you money in the short term as well as the long term.

One of the coffee supplies that you absolutely cannot forget about is coffee! Coffee is the purpose of your business and if you run out you won’t be able to open the doors. Ordering coffee in bulk will make the most sense because it will allow you to get the coffee that you need and you will also receive better pricing because you are ordering in large quantities. This simply makes more sense for a business, even if you weren’t saving money.

You drink coffee all the time, but do you really know what coffee beans are? Do you know where they come from? There is a lot that you can learn about these little beans that may enlighten you or just surprise you. Perhaps if you learn a little bit more about the beans you will enjoy that cup of coffee each morning or afternoon all the more.

Simple Information About Coffee Beans

You may not know it, but coffee beans are the actual seed of the coffee plant. The coffee bean is actually the pit that is found inside of the red or purple fruit found on the coffee plant. The fruit, which is often called coffee cherries or coffee berries and each piece of fruit usually has two beans that have one flat side each. Coffee beans are one of the most popular export products in the world, taking 2nd to petroleum.

Coffee beans are made of mostly endosperm, which is 0.8 to 2.5% caffeine, and it is the caffeine content that has a lot of people coming back for cup after cup of coffee. In fact, caffeine is said to be one of the main reasons that coffee was first consumed because it gave farmers more energy to tend to their crops and monks more energy to stay awake through their prayers.

The term coffee beans comes from the Arabic language, but what is funny about this is that the coffee bean is not actually a bean; it is a seed of a fruit, not a vegetable. The “bean” is taken from the coffee cherry, with the rest of the cherry being discarded in the process, though sometimes it is used as a fertilizer. This is something that a lot of people are not aware, even the most avid coffee drinkers. It will definitely make you think the next time you take a drink of coffee, won’t it? This tidbit of information will also be that odd knowledge that can share with friends and family at gatherings!

There are many different types of coffee beans for you to choose from, yet there are only two that are commercially cultivated. Arabica coffee is the most popular type of coffee, amounting for as much as 75% of the worlds coffee trade. Coffee Robusta is the other type of commercially cultivated coffee and is grown and thrives where Arabica coffee does not thrive. There are two other types of coffee beans that you may be able to get your hands on which are Coffee Liberica and Coffee Excelsa, though these coffees are grown in very limited areas and are therefore the coffee is not as common.
